Caregiver Program

Overview

The Caregiver Program in Canada allows foreign nationals to come to Canada to work as caregivers for children, elderly persons, or individuals with high medical needs. This program provides pathways to permanent residence for caregivers who meet specific criteria. The Caregiver Program includes two main streams: the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot.

Key Features of the Caregiver Program

  • Work and Live in Canada: Caregivers can work and live in Canada while providing essential services to families in need.
  • Pathway to Permanent Residence: Eligible caregivers can apply for permanent residence after gaining two years of Canadian work experience.
  • Family Inclusion: Caregivers can bring their family members with them, and family members may be eligible to apply for open work permits or study permits.
