Federal Business Program
The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is one of the three federal immigration programs managed through Canada’s Express Entry system. It is designed for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently.
Through this program, successful applicants and their families can obtain Canadian permanent residency (PR) and enjoy career opportunities, world-class education, and a secure future in one of the most welcoming countries in the world.
Eligibility Criteria
Work Experience
At least one year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) paid experience in the same occupation within the last 10 years, in a NOC 2021 TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 role.
Language Proficiency
A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in reading, writing, speaking, and listening through an approved test (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF).
Education
A Canadian educational credential, or an equivalent foreign credential supported by an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
Proof of Funds
Applicants must show that they have sufficient settlement funds (unless they already hold a valid job offer in Canada or work authorization).
Selection Grid
Score at least 67 points out of 100 on the FSWP selection grid, which evaluates age, education, work experience, language ability, arranged employment, and adaptability.
FSWP Selection Grid Factors
Applicants must achieve at least 67 points, calculated as follows:
- Age: Up to 12 points (highest for ages 18–35).
- Education: Up to 25 points (doctoral degree or equivalent earns maximum).
- Language Skills: Up to 28 points (English and/or French proficiency).
- Work Experience: Up to 15 points (six or more years earns maximum).
- Arranged Employment: Up to 10 points (valid Canadian job offer).
- Adaptability: Up to 10 points (previous Canadian study/work, spouse’s language skills, or relatives in Canada).
