Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) requirements

Work Experience
- Relevant work experience in an occupation that is in demand within the province or territory.
- Proof of professional qualifications and certifications, if applicable.

- Educational qualifications that meet the specific needs of the province or territory.
- Credential assessment by an approved agency, if necessary.

Language Ability
- Proficiency in English and/or French, demonstrated through approved language tests such as IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF.

Job Offer
- In some cases, a valid job offer from an employer in the province or territory may be required.

Intent to Reside
- Demonstrate a genuine intention to live and work in the nominating province or territory.

Adaptability
- Factors such as previous study or work experience in the province, family connections, or a spouse’s qualifications may be considered.
Application Process

Research and Choose a PNP Stream
- Review the specific PNP streams and eligibility criteria for the province or territory where you wish to settle.
- Identify the stream that best aligns with your qualifications and goals.

Prepare Your Application
- Gather all necessary documents, including proof of work experience, educational credentials, language test results, and other supporting documents.
- Ensure all documents meet the requirements specified by the province or territory.

Submit Your Application to the Province/Territory
- Complete the application forms and submit them to the provincial or territorial immigration office.
- Pay the applicable application fees.

Receive a Provincial Nomination
- If your application is approved, you will receive a provincial nomination certificate, which you will need to include in your application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Apply for Permanent Residence
- Submit your application for permanent residence to IRCC, including your provincial nomination certificate.
- Under Express Entry-aligned streams, create or update your Express Entry profile to include your provincial nomination and receive an additional 600 CRS points.

Medical and Security Checks
- Undergo medical examinations and provide police certificates to demonstrate that you and your family members meet health and security requirements.

Receive Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR)
- If your application for permanent residence is approved, you will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a permanent resident visa (if applicable).
- Complete the landing process and become a permanent resident of Canada.
